Titania – Queen of the Fairies

“What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?”
-Titania, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Playing Titania here is one of the lovely belly dancers who performed at my recent art unveiling. While that event featured my acrylic paintings (alongside said fabulous dancers,) I have also enjoyed working magic with the camera, and other related tools. In this case, every wisp of cloud in the sky, every blade of grass on the Earth, and proud Titania’s wings themselves were all shaped and reshaped from a single scrap of her gown, and by a great deal of electric wizardry.
Looking back at this piece years after its creation, I see that I should have adorned the Earth around her with flowers. Still, what backdrop would not pale behind such a subject? And though inspiration may flow from the past, the work must progress into the future!
This fantastic dancer will be featured anon, amongst many works in my next online gallery.
‘Till then, to quote the bard…

“If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended:
That you have but slumbered here,
While these visions did appear;
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream…”

Sweet dreams!
