Alice Painting Sneak Peak

Master_Nick-Alice-rockThe official unveiling of this painting will be on Saturday night at the Colonial Theatre as the Bodacious Bombshells bring you Burlesque in Wonderland! You, bearing such exquisite taste as to visit this page, are privy to a sneak preview of Alice rocking her flaminguitar.

To be clear, this is not a flaming guitar, as Alice isn’t setting her instrument alight à la Jimi Hendrix. Nay, this is a either a flamingo employed as a guitar, or a guitar shaped like a flamingo. One rather hopes the latter. In Wonderland, such birds are not terribly cooperative when cast as croquet mallets. (Who could blame them?) Even with the leash somewhat subduing this flamingo, it may not hold still while Alice plucks its strings.

Say… How do the strings stay taut whilst adhering to the curves of a flamingo’s throat? Curiouser and curiouser! Some Dali-esque physics are at work and play here, which is more than appropriate to Wonderland.

This dream logic and the painting which captures it are but samples of the beautiful and bizarre. There has been a great deal before, and there is a great deal to come!
