Kitty and Creation

I’ve wrapped this month’s burlesque sideshow performance and have collected my paintings from my latest exhibition. Now it’s time to settle in and weave my next work of dark fantastic fiction.

My kitty Pandora loves to sit on my lap when I’m working. This is not terribly convenient, but I’ve learned to work around her. This morning however, she decided to drape herself across the arm of my dominant hand and turn her rear toward my face. Thankfully, she didn’t quite have her butt in my face, yet her tail tickled my nose. This got me giggling so hard that she climbed down off of me. She’s just turned to look back with an expression that seemed to say that as she views me a furniture, it is my job to stay still for her. She does not want her perch shaking with laughter.

Scaredy Cat Writing Challenge

Whilst working on my second book, I managed to spell “exacerbated” correctly on the first try. For me, this is a rare and wondrous occurrence. I raised my arms in victory, perhaps even threw the metal-head devil horns, and certainly shouted, “YES!”

Bodacious Bombshells Burlesque Revue founder Raven LaRoux brought two cute cats when she moved in to the Manor of Master Nick. Max, the smallest, cutest, fluffiest kitty is quite the fraidy cat. At my sudden noise and gesture, he scampered from the room as fast as his little kitty paws could carry him.

This piece has multiple meanings, both personal and universal. Like the unknown fate of Schrödinger’s imagined cat, there is something of both life and death here.

Love Cats, and The Valentine’s Bizarre!

These kitty brothers need a home! They love attention, and are accustomed to having their nails trimmed. They’re neutered, and have had their first round of shots. A friend rescued them from a parking lot where they’d been left in a box duct taped closed without air holes. If you or someone you know lives in or around Sacramento, and can give some tender loving care to a pair of kitties, let me know!
